Assam Rocks and for Patil everything is fine
Up to the latest reports 66 have been reported dead and 470 injured as 13 serial blasts rock Assam. Condition seems to be going worse as the death toll rises.
Blasts have been reported at Ganeshguri, Fancy Bazaar, Dispur Road and Pan Bazaar area in Guwahati. There are also reports of blasts at Barpeta, Kokrajhar and Bongaigaon districts.
However rather than ULFA, this time it’s the HUJIs who have been blamed for this heinous crimes. Angered mob also attacked Secretariat and demanded Gogoi(CM Assam) to come out and see how his failure to protect the people has caused. It has killed innocent people.
Whereas, in the Centre, the home minister was all in his iconic composure. For him as if nothing had occurred. Here are some facts for the readers to chew on:
The country has witnessed 64 serial blasts in six states in less than six months leaving 215 people dead and nearly 900 injured.
But, like before, Home Minister Shivraj Patil on Thursday parroted his usual response saying “these are cowardly acts perpetrated by the elements which do not want peace to prevail…”
His assessment this time came shortly after serial blasts ripped Assam claiming over 60 lives.
The trend of serial blasts in quick succession began with the multiple explosions in Jaipur in May this year
when nine blasts rocked the Pink City killing 65 people and 150 injured.
“Their aim (to create communal disturbances) has been thwarted. The people of Jaipur have not allowed their nefarious design to succeed,” Patil had said then.
This was followed by nine blasts in Bangalore after which the Home Ministry came out with a statement “such incidents will not deter the government from pursuing its policy with anti-national elements in a resolute manner.”
A day after Bangalore blasts, 18 explosions shook Ahmedabad killing 57 people and injuring 130 others and the statement from the ministry was “anti-national elements have been trying to create panic among the people in our country”.
As terror spread its tentacles to the national capital which was rocked by six serial blasts killing 26 people and 50 others, the ministry said “the government has taken a series of measures recently to beef up security in Delhi. Whatever more is required to be done will be done expeditiously.”
There were four serial blasts in Tripura too during this period.
After today’s 18 blasts in Assam, Patil said it was a handiwork of those who did not want peace to prevail.
Could somebody atleast give a new dialogue to this old gentleman. At last India is now paying the price for gerontocracy. They have neither passion nor energy to deal with burning issues of nation. If things continued in same manner the day is not far when India will be again torn in to pieces and will have to surrender its precious freedom to these terror mongers.

Sad situation. There was some talk of a federal agency to tackle terrorism. Advani was blaming Congress for all this, and then the reporter asked him about Sadhwi Pragya… (Times Now) They are all the same. The Federal agency is a good idea, I am against unlimited powers to any investigating agency because then they will catch just anybody and get a confession/or not get a confession. Our Police has not got a good record of integrity.

I really appreciate your noble concern for our country. But I have serious doubt regarding creation of new Fed type agency. A recent report in TOI suggested that there is already acute shortage in police staff itself. Similar funding and work force crunch is faced by STF, CBI, CID, RAW and now even army is coming under its influence. Then what use will be the new agency will be. Sans men sans weapon. In my view better would strengthening and disciplining the existing force and better coordination among pre-existing agencies..
